Description

Château La Tour Blanche, or La Tour-Blanche, is a sweet white wine ranked as Premier Cru Classé (French, “First Growth”) in the original Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855.

La Tour Blanche's wines are amongst the richest, most powerful and most exotic being produced in Sauternes today. They have marvellous ageing potential.

The 1943 vintage was considered the best of WWII vintages.

This wine has nearly as many air miles as Richard Branson! It was imported by R U Delapenha & Co of 57 Laight St. NEW YORK. The wine returned to this country in the 1980's when it's owner relocated to Oxfordshire. The history is very interesting with Delapenha being well known mainly for their import of top Rum in the 20's and onwards!

The colour is a very dark golden and the level is mid shoulder. The foil has one small area that shows damage. The cork appears fully intact.

I obviously cannot guarantee drinkability but certainly a piece of history
