A perfect ***** growing season delivering well nigh perfect Sauternes, still lovely. Chateau Liot was a discovery of Harry Waugh's and excellent for its class and certainly good value at 12 shillings and 6 pence per bottle (in 1958). Yquem '50 was three times the price. Fat, almost syrupy, *** Michael Broadbent.
