Between the 1930s and 1970s the now defunct Schloss Eltz was of the very best producers in Germany. Two Winemaker were formative: Männle, who was active until the late 1950s and Neuser, who was responsible for the 60s and 70s and is considered a Rheingau luminary. It was renowned for the quality of its wines.
