A Grand Cru Classe wine from the 2012 classification. Hélène Garcin-Lévêque and her husband Patrice Lévêque both own and live here.
100% of the 17HA of vines are classified. Over the years they have worked with Michel Rolland and Alain Raynaud, There has been significant investment happening at Barde-Haut since the arrival of the Lévêques in 2000, including a new cellar and replanting of half of the vines. The oldest Merlot vines here date from 1955. The new Cabernet Franc plantings are massal selection from their Clos de l'Elise estate in Pomerol.
Always full-flavoured and tannic, it's a wine that is tight in its youth.
