Overview

Chateau Les Ormes Sorbet is a Cru Bourgeois property that produces claret in the AC Medoc classification.

Chateau Les Ormes Sorbet can trace its history back to 1764 and present owner Jean Boivert represents the 8th generation of his family to produce wine here.

The property is located in the northern Medoc in the small commune of Couquques, which is known for its undulating topography and its particular type of sedimentary limestone. There are 23 hectares of vineyards planed with 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and a small percentage of Petit Verdot and the now rare Carmenere.

The grapes are hand harvested and then fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel vats. The wine is then matured in small oak barriques 33% new for 18 months. It is bottled unfiltered.
