Overview

Clos Fourtet, previously Château Clos Fourtet and archaically Camfourtet, is a Bordeaux wine from the appellation Saint-Émilion, ranked Premier grand cru classé B in the Classification of Saint-Émilion wine in 1955 and holding the ranking ever since. 


The 19ha vineyard sits behind a Burgundian style wall and is owned by the Cuvelier family since 2001.Planted to 83% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is aged in 60-80-% new oak and has a reputation for ageing very well.


60% of production goes into the first wine and since 1983 40% goes into a second wine La Closerie de Fourtet. (Previously Domaine de Martialis until 2001)
