Chateau Lafleur de Gay is the special luxury cuvee wine produced by Chateau La Croix de Gay.
Proprietor Dr. Alain Raynaud first launched the cuvee in 1982 and the fruit is taken from two plots of old vines located on the Pomerol plateau between Petrus and Lafleur.
Lafleur de Gay is produced from 100% Merlot. The grapes are hand harvested and fermented in temperature-controlled, concrete vats. The wine is aged in 100% new oak barriques for 18 months.
Lafleur de Gay is a powerful, meaty and full-bodied Pomerol that is also exceptionally well-balanced and harmonious. A little over 1,000 cases a year are produced.
