Chateau Troplong Mondot ias a Bordeaux wine ranked Premier Grand Cru Classe B, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru since 2006.
This 36ha estate of which 26.5ha are classified 1er Grand Cru Classe is planted to 73% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Franc and 11% Cabernet Sauvignon sits at the highest point of the plateau sometimes at over 100 metres.
Wines made between 1995 and 2010 are considered to be highly extracted and over ripe by some. Since 2014 the winemaking style has been lightened, after all the terroir already leans towards producing very powerful wines, and new oak has been reduced to 65% from 90%.
75% of the wine is bottled as first wine with 25% going into a second wine labelled Mondot.
