Chateau Pavie Macquin is a Bordeaux wine ranked Premier Grand Cru Classe B, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru since 2006.
The 15ha vineyard here is laid to 80% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon and sits at an altitude of 77 metres on a cooler corner of the plateau, making it one of the later ripening sites. Ageing is in 60% new oak. This creates a first wine that needs time in bottle but rewards patience.
80% of the production goes into the first wine with 20% going into the second label, Les Chenes de Macquin.
